Grandmother’s Legacy

Proverbs 19:21

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Happy birthday to a grandmother whose faith still speaks. Forty years ago, she did not have a guarantee, a blueprint, or a crowd cheering her on. She had a vision from the Lord and the courage to say yes. That yes became a ministry, and that ministry became a legacy.

She listened when the world would have told her to be quiet. She obeyed when the path was unclear. She planted seeds of worship, prayer, and love in soil that only God could make fruitful. Now, decades later, the shade of those seeds still covers us.

Legacy is not a single moment of greatness. It is a thousand small yeses to God — the early mornings, the tearful prayers, the quiet service, the steady belief that He was worth it all. Her life reminds us that the vision God gives is not just for us; it is for the generations who will come after us.

Sister, you are part of her story. The faith you carry, the community you belong to, and the courage you are building were watered by her obedience. Honor her today by continuing what she began: listening to the Lord’s vision and walking it out, one step at a time.

Prayer

Father, thank You for this grandmother’s life and legacy. On her birthday, bless her for the yes she gave You forty years ago. Let her story remind us that Your purpose prevails, and let her faith continue to bear fruit in generations to come.

Reflect

  • 1.What spiritual legacy has someone older in your life passed down to you?
  • 2.What is one small yes you can give God today that future generations might benefit from?
